In the video, the unannounced inspector found that the basa fish in Yoshinoya Sukiyaki was stinky, and after alerting the waiter, the waiter just took the stinky fish out of the pot, but did not replace the stinky vegetables, while not adding new basa fish or informing customers.

The meat froth used to make the mapo tofu was sour, the beef curry was bad, and the chicken was past its best tasting date, but the staff continued to serve it.

In terms of oil, the staff at this Yoshinoya store said that the oil is only changed once a week, and that the dregs are usually filtered out and the rest continues to be used. The inspector pointed out that the filtered oil was seriously blackened.

Finally, there is the worrying issue of hygiene.

The video shows that when the employee used the cup to pick up the broth oil, the bottom of the cup was directly against the garbage can, and then when the beef broth was retrieved, the cup was directly into the barrel.

In addition, employees also directly put food packed in plastic bags into the water for heating, make hot pot and other meals without gloves, but directly grab the ingredients with their hands, etc. The awareness of food hygiene and safety is very weak.

In response, Yoshinoya released a statement on its official Weibo account. The statement, signed by Hexing Restaurant Group, said that Yoshinoya is under different operating companies in the Chinese market, and that Yoshinoya in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Henan, Inner Mongolia and Northeast China is operated by Hexing Restaurant Group. The Yoshinoya restaurant in this video is not within the company’s operations.
