On Thursday (21st), a woman boarded Cathay Pacific flight CX982 from Hong Kong to Guangzhou. However, after landing, she vanished before going through immigration. After 6 hours of search, customs officials finally discovered the woman hiding in a restroom, and upon learning the truth, they found it both amusing and ridiculous.
According to Guangzhou Daily, police officers from the Baiyun Border Inspection Station in Guangzhou were conducting border inspection tasks on the CX982 inbound flight when they noticed that a passenger named Yang had not passed through immigration for 2 hours after landing, as if she had disappeared at the port of entry.
“A person has been inside for several hours.” Based on the feedback from cleaning staff, police officers finally found Yang hiding inside a restroom at the port of entry, where she had been for 6 hours, and proceeded to question her further.
Yang confessed that she had brought 10 bottles of Maotai with her, intending to evade inspection by waiting for a colleague from another flight to help share the alcohol. Her plan was to “bring Maotai into the Maotai restroom.” Currently, Yang has been handed over to the relevant authorities for further processing.
