If you source treadmills from China to sell overseas, “motor power” is almost always the most prominently displayed number in the marketing materials — but this number carries two entirely different meanings: one is the “peak horsepower” the motor can hit for an instant, the other is the “continuous horsepower” it can sustain over a real workout. The gap between them directly determines whether the machine will hold up after a few months of use. 1. Peak horsepower and continuous horsepower are two completely different numbers

Continuous horsepower (CHP) is what the motor can actually sustain over time without overheating or throttling — the number that genuinely matters.
