Korean COM2uS sets up branch company in Taiwan and its views on Chinese market

Korean mobile game company COM2uS announced on Jan 9th that it will set up a branch company in Taiwan, to provide services for the Traditional Chinese areas, including Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao, and explore Southeast Asian markets – Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam and Malaysia.

As one of the largest mobile game companies in South Korea, COM2uS founded its branch in mainland China 12 years ago and released some game works here, and also co-established an institute with Harbin Institute of Technology at Weihai, where lives a lot of Koreans, but the income was not ideal. In an interview in May 2014, COM2uS China CEO Park Yongxi (朴庸锡) used word “incapable” to describe its revenue situation.

Park also pointed out the differences between markets in China and South Korea in May 2013. He said COM2uS would never adopt deception means to “brush the list” and Korean game companies always focus on quality of mobile games, while Chinese companies consider “making money” as the top priority and follow suit when card games and ARPG games became popular, but they offer few funny and satisfactory games.
