China’s entertainment industry has been turbulent recently. Zhao Wei, a Chinese actress who used to wear the Japanese rising sun flag and acted illegally in the commercial field, suddenly saw her Weibo super topic closed. On all major video platforms, many of the works she starred in were removed from the shelves, causing concern.

Chinese media reported on August 27 that on the evening of the 26th, news broke that actress Zhao Wei was listed as a bad artist. According to relevant requirements, all departments and units must investigate and clean up all online and offline programs related to “bad artist”. However, this has not been officially confirmed.

It is understood that Tencent Video directly removed the film and television dramas such as “Returning the Pearl”, “Deep Love and Rain”, “Tiger Mom Cat Dad”, “Mom in Beijing” and “Painted Skin” starring Zhao Wei. In addition, the first season of “The Actors Please Get In”, which Zhao Wei participated in the recording, has also been removed.

Zhao Wei had previously been punished for market entry. In November 2017, the China Securities Regulatory Commission imposed a five-year ban on access to the securities market for Zhao Wei and Huang Youlong, and fined a total of 1.2 million yuan because they “have false records, misleading statements and major omissions in their securities information disclosures.”

The China Securities Regulatory Commission accused Zhao Wei and Huang Youlong of rashly disclosing an acquisition plan with insufficient funding and great uncertainty about its success, thereby “seriously misleading market investors.”

At that time, the three official Chinese media, Xinhua News Agency, People’s Daily and CCTV, criticized Zhao Wei and his wife for “gaining valuable things with nothing” and “taking advantage of policy loopholes and seeking illegal interests.”

Not long ago, Zhao Wei’s artist Zhang Zhehan was revealed to have visited the Yasukuni Shrine, Nogi Shrine, and exposed the Japanese Rising Sun flag and was quickly banned by the entertainment industry. At that time, Zhao Wei’s old photos wearing the Rising Sun flag were once again turned over by Chinese Internet users, causing heated discussions. Source
