China has made another breakthrough in the field of high-speed maglev trains. The latest news is that China will complete the basic development of the engineering prototype of the medium and high-speed maglev system within two years.
On August 26, Beijing time, China’s Ministry of Transport issued on China CNR Group Co., Ltd. to carry out green intelligent transportation equipment development and application of the pilot construction of a strong transportation country: agreed in principle in the development and application of green intelligent transportation equipment, the development and engineering application of high-speed magnetic levitation trains, intelligent urban rail metro train development and engineering application, new energy vehicles, offshore equipment key technology research to carry out the pilot.
According to the opinion, after one to two years, China’s medium and high-speed magnetic levitation train system engineering prototype would have basically been successfully developed.
Prior to this, on July 20, in Qingdao, Shandong, China, the 600 kilometers per hour high-speed maglev train transportation system was officially off the assembly line.
According to CRRC Qingdao Sifang Locomotive & Rolling Stock Co., Ltd. WeChat public account “High-Speed Rail Sifang”, this is the world’s first high-speed maglev transportation system designed to reach a speed of 600 kilometers per hour, marking China’s mastery of high-speed maglev train complete technology and engineering capabilities.
According to the report, in order to master the key technology of high-speed maglev train system, under the support of the key special project of advanced rail transit in the 13th Five-Year National Key Research and Development Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the organization of CRRC and the lead of CRRC Sifang Co., Ltd. will bring together China’s domestic maglev and high-speed rail. More than 30 universities, research institutes and enterprises in the field of “production, study, research and application” jointly launched the development of a high-speed maglev transportation system with a speed of 600 kilometers per hour.
The project was launched in October 2016, a test prototype was developed in 2019, and it was successfully tested on the test line of Tongji University in Shanghai in June 2020. After system optimization, the final technical plan was determined and a complete set was developed in January 2021. The system has started a six-month joint debugging and joint test.
At present, China’s 600 kilometers per hour high-speed maglev train transportation system has completed the integration and system joint adjustment, and the five marshalling trains have achieved stable suspension and dynamic operation on the in-plant commissioning line, with good functional performance.
