Apple delays release of new MacBook Pro in 2021 due to parts shortage

The new MacBook Pro reportedly has a revised new exterior design, display and a powerful M1 chip. But due to some parts shortages, Apple has to postpone the release of this new MacBook Pro, which has been rumored for a long time, until the fall of 2021.

There are also indications that Apple is optimizing and improving the design of the 13-inch MacBook Pro so that it can have a better M1X chip, or upgrading iterations directly from that MacBook Pro to 14 inches. And, it is expected to use a mini-LED screen.

From various information it can be seen that Apple will use Magsafe, HDMI, SD card slot on the new Macbook.

The reason for the delay of the new MacBook Pro this time is still due to the global shortage of chips and parts, etc. Moreover, apparently, Apple is also struggling due to the general shortage of the production chain. It is known that in the past, parts manufacturers and suppliers could reach a lucrative cooperation contract, but the situation in the past few years (the pandemic and some other reasons) have made this kind of profitable thing gradually become history. Apple’s Chief Financial Officer Luca Maestri also talked about the lack of chips or other components in Apple’s supply chain during the company’s financial results press conference some time ago.

This shortage has persisted since the second half of 2020, partly due to the COVID pandemic and partly due to the ongoing trade war between the United States and China and production disruptions in some parts of Europe, not only Apple has been affected, but also Sony’s PlayStation 5 and various high-end graphics cards from AMD and NVIDIA have suffered the same treatment. According to optimistic estimates, this situation may continue until the second half of 2021.
