App Store has just launched a 8-yuan promotion about 20 hours ago for Chinese market, games including The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Infinity Blade III, Terraria and Valiant Hearts: The Great Warare all among the cut-price apps, and are now seeing significant rise of rankings.

This is another promotion after the 1-yuan one in November, and is also about apps made by companies outside of China. Apple’s new action will certainly improve acceptance and popularity of high-quality games and behavior of buying mobile games amid Chinese people.
We will wait and see if Chinese game companies will price their new products at 8 yuan, just like last time, to pretend to be one of the promoted apps, but 8 yuan might be a bit too high for their games.
