Alibaba has just made a statement against Tencent Tech’s report about its terminating mobile games business.
The statement says Alibaba’s mobile games business will be transferred from Digital Entertainment Group to its UC Group, which is the successor of UC Corporation acquired by Alibaba in June.
As the most popular mobile browser in China, UC has no reason to abandon mobile gaming. Tencent Tech was a bit abrupt in reporting the “terminating”, but such transfer is a kind of abandoning, at least by its original group in charge of mobile games.
