Woman Accuses 3-Year-Old of Peeping in H&M Fitting Room; Parents Refuse Apology, Cite Child’s Curiosity

Ms. Jiang from Shenzhen reported that yesterday (19th), while trying on clothes in an H&M fitting room, she was allegedly peeped on by a 3-year-old boy who repeatedly reached inside the fitting room. She confronted the boy’s parents, but they refused to apologize and even retorted, “What’s there to look at in your figure?”

Ms. Jiang said that she and her friend were trying on clothes in the fitting room when the young boy kept peering inside and even reaching inside the room. In an attempt to capture evidence, she placed her phone on the floor and loudly asked her friend to try on another outfit. “The little boy immediately crawled to the floor and looked inside. We were very angry,” she said.

Ms. Jiang and her friend immediately reported the incident to the store staff and the boy’s parents. To their surprise, the parents not only refused to apologize but also said, “Why don’t you call the police and arrest him? He’s just three years old.” They even made insulting remarks several times, commenting on their appearances, “They’re all females, nothing good to look at, no figure, and not pretty.”

An H&M store employee stated that they did not have staff assigned to serve customers in the fitting rooms. However, upon discovering the situation described above, the staff promptly intervened to stop the boy’s behavior. The affected customer has raised the issue, and the store has apologized to her, promising to increase manpower to monitor the fitting rooms more closely. Public Opinions:

Regardless of age, it’s creepy for anyone to squat down and peek like that.

Why didn’t he go and be curious about his own mother?

The child may not have intended to peep, but the behavior is indeed inappropriate. The mother should educate her child about being polite and respectful.

It involves one’s privacy, and regardless of gender, this kind of behavior makes people uncomfortable. It’s also a display of bad manners.

It’s true that the behavior is not good, even if the child is three years old and may not understand. The mother’s attitude towards this incident is questionable.

Although the child may be curious and peeked just out of curiosity, it’s still not good behavior. However, taking pictures and demanding an apology might be blowing things out of proportion for such a young child.

It’s normal for a child at this age to be curious and find things amusing. The parents should guide them correctly.
